Warranty Terms

We would like to clarify about our All India Service Policy regarding warranty clause.

1.0 Objectives :-
The objective is to provide Policy & Guidelines for managing, performing & verifying activities associated with after sales service for Industrial Systems group of products in India. Our focus is on rendering prompt, effective & efficient service to achieve higher level of Customer Satisfaction with the transparent and consistent improvements service operations.

2.0 General Instructions on Warranty :-
(a) We undertake to Repair or Replace the Product or any part thereof, at our option, for any manufacturing defects only, which we are satisfied was originally defective in material or workmanship.

(b) To avail the guarantee facility, the guarantee card should be produced along with the purchase documents bearing product serial number mentioned on it. One side transportation shall be borne by the customer, if the product is to be brought to ASCs for Repairs.

(c) Guarantee periods are different for different Products, stipulated in Para No. 3.0.

(d) Guarantee does not cover consequential damages / defects of any nature, resulting from improper selection / improper installation / improper use of the product.

(e) The guarantee is applicable to the first user, subject to safe & proper storage of the products, no pilferage and damage due to improper handling conditions.

(f) Tampering of Name Plate or its Serial Number by any means would void the Warranty of the Product.

(g) The Dealer and Stockiest to take all precautions and maintenance while storing the products at their premises, as recommended by respective Division to each product.

(h) In case a defective product is replaced by a replacement product, the warranty period for the replacement product shall be applicable only for the remaining warranty period.

(i) We cannot accept the responsibility, if the product is found to be repaired by persons other than those authorized by us to carry out such repairs.

(j) To avail the guarantee facility, the customers have to bring the product to the nearest CG ASC up to 0.75 HP (in 3 Ph.) & up to 0.25 HP (in 1 Ph.) motors “OR” to be
sent through transporter on Paid basis. No site services shall be provided for the above mentioned motors, except for big Industrial customers & OEMs.

(k) Conversion of product at Customer / Dealer places on their own will void the guarantee for the product. Conversion means:- Exchange of Rotors, removal or
interchange of components, changing Capacitors in FHP Motors, by passing of protection provided, addition or removal of accessories on the products, conversion of motors from Foot to Flange or vice versa, etc. In emergency requirements, the same should be done on chargeable basis with Divisional approval through our ASCs only.

3.1 LT motors:
3.1.1 AC and DC Motors :- 12/18 months from date of commissioning / date of despatch whichever is earlier subject to safe and proper storage and handling
conditions as per our guideline and availability and presenting Warranty card, original Invoice with SR No/Ref No mentioned on Original Invoice copy.

3.1.2 Alternators :- 24 months from date of commissioning or 30 months the date of purchase what so ever is earliest by the first user subject to safe, proper storage
and handling conditions . And availability and presenting Warranty card, original Invoice with SR No/Ref No mentioned on Original Invoice copy.

Extended Warranty :- Specific cases to be referred to marketing while taking the order.

3.2 FHP motors :-
3.2.1 General Purpose (GP) Motors :-
a) Motors would be warranted for a period of 15 months from the date of manufacturing. Beyond this period no warrantee shall be entertained, either to Customers or to Dealers.

(However, based on the merit of the situation, additional 3 months guarantee can be considered at the discretion of Service EIC of the Branch, for the defective products received at our ASCs or Go-downs )

b) After getting the products cross-checked by ASCs, along with the ASCs Inspection Report, confirming that the products are replaced for manufacturing defects within the warrantee period, the Dealers should return the defective motors to Go-down for
replacement purpose.

c) This provision does not apply to the products that are replaced to the customer beyond warrantee Clause by the Dealer. It would be the sole responsibility of the
Dealer with regards to the products which are replaced beyond warrantee clause.

d) Replacement will be given in cases where motor is beyond repair due to technical reasons. Branch Service EIC needs to cite the report why it is not repairable and send proposal to RSM. Regional Service Manager can take decision on such cases but need to regularize the same with Division Service Head / AIMM.

3.3 LRM :-
3.3.1) AC and DC Motors/Generators :- 12/18 months from date of commissioning / date of dispatch whichever is earlier subject to safe and proper storage and handling conditions as per CG guideline and availability and presenting warranty certificate, original Invoice with SR No/Ref No mentioned on original invoice copy . Branch engineer to cross check with division since warranty clause may differ in specific cases.

3.3.2) Traction Motor/Alternators: 24/30 month from date of commissioning / date of dispatch whichever is earlier subject to safe and proper storage and handling conditions as per CG guideline and availability and presenting warranty certificate, original Invoice with SR No/Ref No mentioned on original invoice copy. Branch engineer to cross check with division since warranty clause may differ in specific cases.

Extended Warranty :- Specific cases to be referred to marketing while taking the order.

4.0 Geographical Area covered :-
• All India except, Kashmir, Andaman, Nicobar & Ladakh, Lakshadweep.
• Outside India warranty to be checked with our Marketing before Quoting.
• Outside India Services will be only on chargeable basis only (All Expenses included).
